A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Based on Kenmore model 110.87566601, I see two color options for the control panel, white or graphite. For convenience, I have provided a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the SearsParts site to purchase the graphite option for this model of dryer. The part number is W10099611.

Thank you very much Josh_S! My control panel works fine but the overlay over the buttons is cracking and pealing away. Can a person just get a new overlay over the buttons as opposed to a entire new control panel (looking to spend less if possible)? Thanks,

Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately not, the manufacturer doesn't break the control panel down that far. That is usually the case with washers, unlike ranges where those membranes or "push buttons" can usually be purchased individually. Sorry for the inconvenience with the cracked buttons and wish you all the best with the washer. Thanks again for the question and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Hello, is anyone there? The Sears support staff said I could have my question answered in about 10 minutes. It's been over 30 minutes with no response. What is the normal wait time for an answer? All I want is for someone to tell me how to insert the plastic dryer rack in my dryer properly without the drum turning. I've been working online and with Sears phone support since 6 pm this evening and am no closer to an answer now than I was then.

Almost an hour now. You shouldn't offer this service if the response is this slow or even nonexistent. Your phone support is no help either - can't believe a big box retailer has such poor product support.

Going on 2 hours with no response from your support. This is an issue that should have taken no more than 5 minutes with a live phone support person. I was led to believe by your phone support this would be resolved in just a few minutes with your chat help. I've had no response at all from anyone. If you're too busy to help, at least provide another source of support. If you're closed for the night, you should post your hours on the website. I've been hawking my phone and computer for over three hours trying to get support of any kind for this simple issue. If you can't help, then post a reply so your customers don't feel ignored, as I do.

This is straight out of the manual - I have this information already. The manual doesn't detail how to install the wire viewed in the diagram, and also doesn't show a bend 'V' in the wire or where the 'V' inserts on the dryer back. Does it just sit there or does it attach to something? Also, the manual says to push down on the dryer rack to secure it over the lint screen. My dryer rack never secures to the lint screen no matter how much force is applied - it just pops back off. Does the lint screen stay on or come off? If it stays on, how does the dryer rack secure to the lint screen? I've pushed down on it, but it never 'snaps' into place securely - is it supposed to, or does it just sit there? Once the dryer rack is 'installed' I have yet to find a way to secure it without it flopping around inside the dryer once the dryer is started. Does the drum rotate around the rack, or does the rack stop the drum from rotating? If the drum isn't supposed to rotate, how does the rack insert so that the drum doesn't rotate? If I'm going to wait this long for a response, please be thorough, specific and detailed in your answer.

This still doesn't address my basic question - why doesn't the rack install correctly and how does it install? I have the wire in the right place on the dryer rack, but other than that all of my questions still remain. Please see my previous post and provide a detailed answer to my problem.

To reboot or reset the control board on this type of dryer, you can try unplugging it (or shutting off the house breaker) to completely disconnect electrical power for 3 minutes. After restoring electrical power, the control board will sometimes reset to its original factory settings and work properly. This procedure sometimes works if the dryer encountered an electrical surge or glitch through the electrical lines. This often happens during an electrical storm or power outage.

If the control board will not reset and the console will not respond, then you will likely need to perform some advance technical troubleshooting. I provided some of the technical troubleshooting and tests for this type of dryer in the image below. This information may help you determine the cause of your dryer problem. NOTE: This technical data is intended for technician. Follow electrical safety guidelines when using this information. Unplug the dryer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

If you need more help, submit additional details regarding the symptoms of your failure.
