Alina, Thank you for your answer. We did unplug, etc., as suggested in the attachment in your post. I have noticed that the touchpad on my dryer will not allow cycle changes, etc. I am now wondering if we have a malfunctioning touchpad. I do not know. Please keep looking. This is perplexing. Thank you.

I recommend that you double check that model number and make sure that you have the correct electronic control board installed in the dryer. The part number of the control board for model 110.87571601 should be W10111606.

If the correct control board is installed, then you could have a bad replacement control board or another problem that is preventing the control board from working properly. On a few of the HE types of dryers, there has been an unusual issue that has caused some intermittent F01 error codes. A short in the moisture sensor wires has been known to cause this error code. I provided a wiring diagram for this dryer in the image below. You can unplug the dryer and access the control board. Unplug the moisture sensor wires from the control board and then reassemble the dryer. Power it back up and see if you still get the F01 error code. If not, then I recommend that you carefully check the moisture sensor wire harness for a short to the metal cabinet.

There is a possibility that you have a bad touchpad that is causing this problem. If the above steps don't help, you may need to try replacing that component.

I hope that these tips help. This may be a difficult failure to diagnose. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

Hello Michelle. Reply with the full model number of your dryer. If you are seeing the F1 code on an HE2 dryer, then you can try unplugging the dryer for 5 minutes. Plug it back in and see if the code clears and the dryer works properly. If not, then you may need to replace the main machine control board. If you reply with the full model number and additional details, we will try to give you some more specific troubleshooting help.

I posted an image below that shows the error codes for that dryer. I assume that you are seeing the F-01 code and that it will not clear. In that situation, you will need to replace the machine control board (part W10111606). Here is a direct link for that part: Electronic Control Board for Kenmore Dryer Model 110.87531700 . UNPLUG the dryer before installing that new control board. The image below shows how to access and replace that machine control board in your dryer. If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

Kenmore Model 110-87561602 Dryer - No Power 110-87561602

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore dryer model 110-87561602. I am so sorry it is not working. I know how quickly laundry can pile up and I know you want to get this fixed quickly. I will be happy to help you with this.

Your question indicates that you have checked the breaker. However, a lot of people are not aware that dryers usually have two breakers. One breaker is for power and one breaker allows it to heat. It is easy to overlook the second breaker.

If the breakers are fine, then there are a few parts that will need to be checked. Start with the door switch and door catch. These safety devices prevent the dryer from starting if the door isn’t closed. If a part has failed, the dryer will not work until it is replaced.

Your question doesn’t indicate if there are any fault codes displayed. Does this mean there is no power to the dryer at all? Or it just doesn’t start? Look for loose wire connections. While inspecting the wiring, look for breaks in the wires and any scorch marks. The dryer has several safety devices that will prevent it from starting if there is an air flow issue or if the dryer has overheated. These are the thermal fuse, the thermistor, the thermal cut-off and the thermostat. If one of these safety devices has been tripped, it will need to be replaced before the dryer will start again. Be sure to also correct the issue that tripped the safety device before replacing the part.

If you have ruled out the safety devices, then the most likely problem is the electronic control board or the user interface. These parts can also be tested for failure.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. Internal parts may have sharp edges that can cause serious cuts. Use caution and wear work gloves if possible. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Thank you for the quick response. I started by checking voltage at the receptacle for the dryer. Too my surprise, no power. Have called electrician. Sounds like a bad breaker.
