Q:

how easy is it to install a dryer door switch part #W10318609? Where can i find instructions to do this? 110 87081601

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model11087081601: I have posted an image below of the instructions for removing the top panel and accessing the internal parts. One you have access to the switch you can remove the switch by removing the screws that secure the switch in place. Once the switch is removed you can discount the switch and install the new switch and reverse the process to reassemble the unit.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Q:

Kenmore Elite Dryer

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having problems with the dryer.

Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your Kenmore Dryer model number 110-87081601.

First thing for safety and concerns to keep dryer running well is to check the lint screen and vent of air flow going out of the house.   If clogged up it could cause heating problems on any dryer.

To prevent a Blocked Vent Hood, once a year:

1.  Clean any lint blockage from the exhaust vent hood.

2.  Make sure the vent hood flappers move freely.

3.  Check for screen/grate openings that allow bird or rodent nests.

4.  Replace exhaust vent hood if damaged.

5.  Check for good air flow while running the dryer.

Note: Poor airflow or decreased airflow indicates further vent system cleaning is needed.

It sounds like you have a problem with the sensing function.  Right behind the lint screen area is the sensor electrode.  I would start with that.  It is key #34 on the picture below.

Larry Jr. Thanks for the quick response. I did not receive an e-mail of your response to my question as the help desk sign-in indicated. At any rate, I removed the lint screen holder and was able to use a crevasse vacuum tool to remove small amount of build up. I agree that I need to pull the dryer out and inspect the vent hose and outside hood for debris. If it is the sensing bars, can I purchase two new ones and if so where? Is item #34 part number 11087081601 as you referenced? If not, please provide part number(s). Thanks.
