Question and Answers

Q:

Dryer does not shut off 11086874100 Kenmore Dryer

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dryer. From what you are describing it sounds like the timer is causing the problem. You would need to have a meter to confirm the diagnoses. When the timer reaches cool down the dryer should shut down in a few minutes. Timer contacts BU to BK should open to stop the dryer from running. The image below will provide a wiring diagram. If you do not feel comfortable doing this test, then I would recommend that you schedule service. Just click on this link to do so: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I am having the same problem. The dryer needs to be manually advanced to shutoff. I replaced the timer and resistor. This did not fix the problem. Any other ideas about what could be causing this problem?

Q:

The Kenmore dryer quit heating. 11086874100

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model 11086874100; if the timer has not been replaced, then the dryer not heating could be caused by the dryer not activating the heat element. If you have already replaced the timer and the dryer is advancing ok, then you can unplug the dryer power cord and test the thermostats, thermal fuse and the heat element for continuity. You can test the mentioned parts for continuity with the parts removed, if any the mentioned parts test reads no continuity then that may be the problem part.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.
