Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is no heat from the dryer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 110.86584100.

In helping with your dryer.  The first thing to let everyone know is that they must first check there lint screen.  Pull it out and make sure the vent the screen goes into is not plugged.   Next check the vent area where it goes outside the house.   A dryer has to have a free movement of air to prevent heating problems and fire hazzards.

Looking at your electrical dryer you can check all the possiblities that I will give you when it comes to no heat.

1st item to look at is the heating element itself.

2nd item is the  thermal cut-off thermostats which comes as a pair and is installed on the side of the heating element.

3rd item to check and always check this even if the other items are bad.  That is the thermal fuse just attached to the blower.

All of these items have a cause and affect when it comes to the dryer heating problem.   You can check with an ohm meter on all these parts.   If the circuit is open then they are bad, if closed they are good.

I have below on the link to click on the heating problem parts.   Heating element is key number 14.  The thermostat to the side is number 34.  Look behind the blower and  you see two key items 41 the thermostat and number 42 which is the thermal fuse.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You will need to disconnect the power cord from the power source and then remove the back panel. Disconnect the wires from the heating element. There is strap and screw at the top of the heating element securing the housing to the bulkhead that will need to be removed. Once the screw and strap has been removed, grasp the top of the heater housing and wiggle and pull out to disengage it from the bulkhead. Lift the heater housing up and then pull the bottom outwards and down to remove.

I also added an image below with procedure and images to reference. You can order the heating element for Kenmore dryer model 110.86584100 from Sears Parts Direct.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
