Why does my Kenmore model 110.86155100 electric dryer get hot but there is very little heat transferred to the drum or out the vent?

From the description of your problem the first thing I'd recommend you check is if the blower is working.

You say the drum doesn't get hot but the rear of the dryer does. Remove the vent hose and see if any air is coming out. It's possible this problem is caused by a broken belt or broken blower wheel.

If the air flow is strong out the rear exhaust then next check the drum is turning and the belt is okay. If there is no air flow then the blower wheel has most likely cracked and is not turning.

If the drum is not rotating most likely the belt has broken.

The top is hinged in the rear and is held down by two clips located about 2-4 inches in from the front corners. First pull the lint filter out and remove the two screws located there. Then with a putty knife push in and release the clips. With the top up you can visually check the belt is around the drum.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem but if after making these checks you still have questions then submit another question with any additional details for further assistance with this problem.
