Washer will not hold water 110.84870800

Thank You for choosing Sears and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your washer and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 110.84870800 and from what you described it sounds like the drain hose is too far down into the drain stand pipe causing water to siphon out as its filling. The minimum drain height is 39 inches. I recommend checking the drain hose height & make sure it is up high enough & is not air tight. When a washer fills and drains at the same time there is a siphoning condition. This is directly related to the installation of the drain hose.

If drain hose is installed into standpipe or utility tub:

Standpipe must meet manufacturer's requirement (typically no less than 36 inches above the floor and greater than 96 inches above the floor). Drain hose must not be inserted further than 8 inches into the standpipe. Drain hose should not be secured by tape or any other object which may obstruct the flow of air into the standpipe.

Note : In some cases it may be necessary to strap the drain hose to the pipe. In cases such as these use a zip tie or fastener of some sort and strap the hose to the stand beneath the opening of the rain pipe.

If drain hose drains directly into floor drain, verify that drain hose has anti-siphon kit installed. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears
