Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. Joseph has provided good information. First, I recommend checking your house breaker box and flip the two dedicated switches to the dryer back and forth twice. If the switches are good, some other parts need to be checked. There are several components that aide the dryer in heating. Your thermal fuse, thermistor, thermal cut-off, high limit thermostat, and the heating element would need to be checked to see which component has failed. You'll need an ohms meter to perform this testing. The ohms readings are the following:

  • Thermal fuse 0 ohms
  • Thermistor 10k ohms
  • Thermal cut-off 0 ohms
  • High limit thermostat 0 ohms
  • Heating element 7.8 - 11.8 ohms

Here is a great video on the disassembly of a dryer like yours. You can order any parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this information helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance with this repair. If you do not feel comfortable performing test or repairing this problem yourself, I recommend scheduling for service. You can schedule for service online with our Sears Home Services team.
