Question and Answers

Q:

Do I replace just the timer knob on my kenmore washer heavy duty 80 series 110.82984820 or do I also need to replace the dial?

A:

Many consumers have had knob problems like this and it is confusing trying to figure out what is needed to repair. I attached two links below that I hope will help while you wait for the expert. The first is a schematics view at Sears Parts Direct that offers an exploded view of the parts. You may have already checked this but I added below. The second link is a previous expert post for this issue and model that may help.

Q:

How do I replace the agitator dogs in my Kenmore washer?

A:

First, remove the fabric softener dispenser #20, agitator cap #1, 7/16 screw # 2. Take a pair of needle nose pliers & break off the tabs that are holding on the driven cam. You should now be able to pull off the auger section & replace the agitate dogs. Please see the image provided for more details.

The User's manual is no longer available for ordering nor is it available electronically. I provide the step by step instructions below.

To remove and replace the timer:

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the power source.
  2. Push timer knob in.
  3. Rotate the timer knob counterclockwise (CCW) until it comes off.
