Thanks for the information about your washer model 11082881800; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist you. Based on the description you have provided, there are a couple things to check. Try this simple test; set to a regular large load and allow to operate, observe when the washer timer approaches the spin mode, First the water should drain then there should be a pause for a few seconds then it will spin. If after the pause it still agitates there is a problem with the clutch/brake assembly or the release in the transmission gear case. If there is no pause and you can stop the washer and restart to make it spin then the problem will be in the timer not allowing a pause. After making the quick test reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.Ron H.

A:

I know how important it is to have detailed information when doing some major repairs. The owners manual may no longer be available if the appliance is over ten years old. I did manage to find a link that will guide you with your project. I hope this helps with your repairs while you wait for your expert response.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The washer cabinet is designed to be easily taken off from the base. You will need to do this in order to locate the source of the water leak. I would suspect the drain pump leaking if the water leak appears to originate from the front center area. It could also have a hole in one of the hoses between the water inlet valve and the vacuum break.

I added a YouTube video showing how to remove the washer cabinet if you feel confident in repairing the washer yourself. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
