Question and Answers

Q:

Poor upper part agitiation 11082874130 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

What you are experiencing sound like you need new agitator dogs.  They are four plastic pieces between the two sections of the agitator. If there is a screw in the top, remove it and pull the sections apart and they will be visible.  Hope this helps.

Based on your symptom the lid switch is likely broken. If you do not hear a faint click of the lid switch when you raise and lower the lid, the lid switch is likely broken. In order to access and replace the lid switch will require removing the washer cabinet. I added an image below with instructions on how to remove the cabinet. The lid switch is mounted underneath the top. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before placing the control panel in the service position. The lid switch is part #285671 and is available at Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why is my Kenmore washer leaning to one side?

A:

Something like this could be caused by a faulty base assembly or one of the suspension springs being loose or missing. The only way to check the base & suspension springs is to remove the complete cabinet. I have included images with instructions showing how to disassemble the washer.
