I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your washer. On this model there are two parts to the lid switch. The switch itself and the actuator. The switch (#11) is what will active the washer, but the actuator (#12) is what activates the switch. I would suggest that you replace both parts, just to be sure it will work. The parts numbers are:

  • Lid Switch: 661517
  • Lid Switch Actuator: 357347

You can order both of these at this link: Sears Parts Direct. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

What part do I need to fix my washing machine that only runs cold water?

A:

On something like this we need to know if the hot water valve solenoid is receiving 120volts when you call for hot water. If the hot valve is getting 120volts & has good water pressure then you will need to replace the water valve. If you do not have 120volts to the valve we need to use the meter to track down the voltage loss. Possibilities; timer, temp switch & wiring harness.

Remember to use extreme caution when checking voltage.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
