Q:

Metal pieces in the wash tub 11081950100 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when you are seeing small pieces of metal in washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number 110.81950100.

IT Sounds like  your drive block may be falling apart.  To take a look you'll need to remove the agitator and inspect it.   I have a picture of it on the link below.  What happens is after time the circumference wears and the grooves no longer engage the tabs of the drive tube.

The drive block is key number 14.  You will need to remove the agitator and need a spanner wrench for the nut below.

Picture of the tub where the drive block is.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Removing and replacing the water inlet valve on your washer is an easy do it yourself project. I added a YouTube video showing how to access and replace the water inlet valve part #285805. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

A:

The model 110.81950100 washer is about 10 years older than the model 110.28892790 washer you were given. The motor and transmission are the same on both.

The same for the dryers. The model 110.67832791 is about 10 years newer than the model you have how. The internal motor and belt are the same.

All things considered I'd say the pair you were given is 10 years newer and should be the ones to keep.
