Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. You'll need to examine the parts to see which needs to be replaced. The three parts that may need to be replaced are provided below:

  1. Timer knob 3362629 priced at $12.35.
  2. Pointer 388383 priced at $34.28.
  3. Timer 3946433 priced at $114.89.

If the post on the timer is stripped or damaged, you would need to replace the timer as well to get the parts to fit back on. If it just looks like the knob itself is broken, just replace the knob. If there appears to be damage to the pointer, then replace that as well. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

A:

Vincent, if the other parts are good then you'll just need to replace the knob . The only coupling I show for this washer is the motor coupling down by the motor. I would just order the knob.

Q:

What is the problem with a Kenmore washer model 11081820100 that leaks water into the tub?

A:

Water leaking into the washer is most likely caused by a bad water valve that is not shutting off all the way.

Typically if the washer keeps filling and over flows and you turn the timer off or unplug the washer and the fill stops it is most likely caused by a defective water level switch.

If you turn the power off and the water keeps filling, or the washer is turned off and it fills with water then the valve is bad.

Extremely low water pressure might cause this problem but most likely it will be the water valve. The valve is part number 285805 and is available from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

You didn't ask but accessing the water valve to change it can be a trick on this washer. The image below shows how to remove the cabinet to access and change the water valve. Remember to unplug the washer first.
