Question and Answers

Q:

My washer won't drain

A:

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry for the problem with your Kenmore 110.80754001 Laundry Center.  On this particular washer style if it doesn't drain or spin then the lid switch is likely the problem.  The washer can fill and agitate with a bad lid switch but it can not drain or spin with a bad lid switch.  Does the motor seem to be running or humming?  The drain pump can get a stray sock and jam up not allowing the motor to turn.  To access the drain pump you will need to remove the transition panel between the washer and dryer.  With the panel removed you can remove the two screws on the rear of the top [panel.  With the screwws removed you can  slide the top panel  forward to remove.  With the top off you can remove the two screws holding the front panel in place.  If you wish to check if the drain pump is clogged you can remove the drain hose from the standpipe and lower it over a small bucket.  When the end of the drain hose is lowered the water should drain up due to gravity if the pump is not clogged.   I hope this helps.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.

Thank you for your question.

Before attempting to replace the switch, unplug the unit. Then remove the screws in the angled cover between the washer and dryer. The cover should now come out. Next, loosen the screws on the bottom of the console. This will loosen the console so it can be lifted off. Once the console is removed you might have enough room to reach the switch. If you can reach the switch, go ahead, remove the screws, and replace the switch. If you cannot reach the switch, the front panel has to be removed. The panel should be secured with a two screws along the bottom of the front panel and screws along the top. Remove the screws and take the front panel. This information is from memory because there is not a manual available for this model. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
