Question and Answers

Q:

Dryer won't light 11078972892 Kenmore Gas dryer

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Dryer, Model: 110.78972892. From reviewing the details on your model, When a gas dryer runs but doesn’t heat the most likely problem is the thermal fuse. If this dryer is running but not heating then first I suggest checking the thermal fuse. It is located behind the lower access panel. The image below will help you access the thermal fuse. Remember to unplug the dryer first.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the dryer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order to convert the dryer back to Natural gas will involve removing the LP orifice on the gas valve and installing the Natural gas orifice. The pressure regulator vent cap will need to be removed and blocking pin taken out. Once the blocking pin as been taken out, re-install the vent cap on the regulator. The Natural gas orifice #234826 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source and shut the gas supply off before servicing. I added a couple of images to review below.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
