My Kenmore Gas Dryer stopped heating. What can be the cause of this problem?

A:

When dryers stop working, it causes ripple problems in the household schedule. A:

If the dryer will run but not heat then the timer will not advance. If we fix the not heating problem then we will most likely fix the timer not advancing problem.

When a gas dryer stops heating the most likely cause is an open thermal fuse. The thermal fuse can be checked for continuity if you have a meter.

It can also be bypassed if you have a small piece of insulated wire handy. Unplug the dryer and remove the two wires from the thermal fuse. Join the two wires together with the small piece of insulated wire.

The image below will show how to access the thermal fuse.

Check the thermal fuse and reply with what you find for further assistance.

The 3392519 thermal fuse can be obtained from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .
