Your correct the picture is very poor but this is an old dryer but the cable fits into the door panel. There should be a plastic cap/keeper (plug) that you would remove. The slot is keyed so one end of the cable is pushed through the opening and then pushed down into a narrower slot. The cap/keeper/plug is pressed back into the panel to hold it in place. See the images below for a picture of the cable and the plug.

You can use a putty knife to release the lower access panel and access the spring the other end of the cable mounts to.
