Question and Answers

How do I remove the old door strike and latch from the door of my Sears dryer? Model #110.77971100. I already have the replacement parts.

Hello I see you would like to know how to replace some parts. I suggest you visit our Manage My Life and click on the Manuals button, then you need to put in your model number and then your manual should appear. In most manuals there have a maintenance page that I think will help give you instructions. I attached the link below. I hope this helps!!!!!

In order to replace the strike use a pair of pliers to remove. In order to replace the catch, separate the dryer door partially to reach in with a pair of needle nose pliers & squeeze the mounting clips inwards & pull the catch out from the front. Please see the image provided for details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.
