Q:

Dryer does not work rite

Q:

What causes the burner in my Kenmore dryer to cut off prematurely?

A:

From what you’re describing it sounds like weak burner coils. If the burner comes on when you start the dryer initially but does not come back on during the cycle I suspect the gas valve coils are weak & need to be replaced; part number 279834. www.searspartsdirect.com Other possibilities; flame sensor, gas valve or thermostat. Please see the images provided below for access & step by step repair instructions.

Q:

Why is my Kenmore gas dryer running but not heating?

A:

I’m sorry; our imaging is down today. The igniter is in the front area & the other components are in the back behind the back panel. Pull the lint screen out & remove those 2 screws. Release the front clips with a putty knife & lift the top up to access the front panel screws & remove the front panel by lifting slightly. Release the belt taking note of it’s & the idler pulleys location. In the back you will find the thermal fuse & operating thermostat on the blower housing & the hi-limit on the heater housing. All should show closed.

Be sure to use extreme caution when working with live voltage.
