Thank you for your question. Based on the model number I see that it's a gas dryer. The dryer may not be heating because it has a broken glow bar igniter, however it could have one of several other possible component failures too. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord before removing the lower access panel or rear panel.

There is a small square plastic inspection cover located below the dryer door. Pry the plastic inspection cover off and then start the dryer and keep watching through the hole. If you see the glow bar igniter glowing red and then fading off without any burner ignition, the failure is not the igniter but most likely weak solenoid coils. The solenoid coils are mounted on top of the gas valve.

If you do not see the igniter glowing red, then the failure could be one of the following:

  • Igniter (located on the end of burner assembly)
  • Thermal fuse (key#39)
  • Thermal cut-off (key#31)
  • Hi-Limit thermostat (key#34)
  • Operating thermostat (key#41)
  • Timer (inside console)
  • Flame sensor (key#9)

Key numbers 39, 31, 34, 41, are accessible from the rear of the dryer. Remove the back panel in order to access these parts.

The igniter, solenoid coils and flame sensor is located behind the front panel. To find out which component has failed if the glow bar igniter is not glowing is to use an ohm meter and check the continuity of each component. You will need to disconnect both wires from the component before testing the component for continuity using the OHM meter. I added an image below with the circuit highlighted in red. Each one must have continuity or the voltage supply will not reach the glow bar igniter.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Based on your symptom and details the thermal fuse is likely open. This would cause no heat and it would prevent the timer from advancing all the way to the off position. The thermal fuse (key#39) is located on the blower housing (key#44). See images below. Access the thermal fuse from the back of the dryer. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear panel and testing the thermal fuse for continuity. The thermal fuse is part #3392519 and is available at Sears Parts Direct .
