Question and Answers

Q:

the drum won't move and it makes a noise. 110.77082600

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer drum will not move.

It sounds to me like the drive belt may have came off. The drive belt controls the spinning of the drum.

Q:

Kenmore Elite Dryer 11077082600

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore Elite dryer model 11077082600. I am so sorry it only runs for a few minutes and then the heat shuts off. I know how frustrating that must be when you are trying to finish the laundry. I will be happy to help you with this.

This is a gas dryer and does not use a heating element. It uses a burner assembly instead. Because the dryer runs and heats, it sounds like there may be a blockage in the vent system. There are safety devices in the dryer that shut it down when the internal temperature gets too hot. That can happen if there is insufficient air flow. A good way to check is to turn the dryer on and go to the vent where the dryer heat goes out of the house. If you do not have a steady flow of warm air coming out of the vent, there is a blockage that needs to be cleaned out.

I have included the link below for our dryer repair guide. You may find some helpful tips to narrowing down this issue if it isn’t the venting.

If there isn’t a lint build up or a venting issue, then there may be a misalignment of the flame to the thermal cut-off (TCO) and Hi-Limit thermostat which can affect the sensitivity of the heat range. If there is an issue with the flame alignment, then you should check the TCO, the High-Limit thermostat, the burner funnel and the burner scoop.

SAFETY WARNING: Testing and replacing parts on the burner assembly can be extremely dangerous if you are not familiar with making this type of repair. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
