Q:

why dosnt my dryer heat??? 11077052600 Kenmore Elite Dryer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when the dryer does not heat.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Dryer model number 11077052600.

I see you have a gas dryer so please look at all the items to check below.

First thing for safety and concerns to keep dryer running well is to check the lint screen and vent of air flow going out of the house.   If clogged up it could cause heating problems on any dryer.

To prevent a Blocked Vent Hood, once a year:

1.  Clean any lint blockage from the exhaust vent hood.
2.  Make sure the vent hood flappers move freely.
3.  Check for screen/grate openings that allow bird or rodent nests.
4.  Replace exhaust vent hood if damaged.
5.  Check for good air flow while running the dryer.
Note: Poor airflow or decreased airflow indicates further vent system cleaning is needed.

GAS DRYER PROBLEMS:

All items can be checked with a volt meter for continuity.

When a gas dryer isn't heating there are a few things to look at.

In the burner system you have

1.  The ignitor key number 4 on burner page

2.  The pair of coils 13 & 14 on burner page

Behind the blower there is

3.  The thermistor key number 2 on blower page

4.  The thermal fuse  key number 59 on blower page.

Q:

Gas Dryer - Burner fires up, runs for 15 seconds and then shuts down, 30 seconds later it refires, runs for 15 seconds and then shuts down.

A:

Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife.  I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The problem seems to be the radiant sensor or the hi-limit thermostat.

The radiant sensor is the device that opens and stops the voltage going to the igniter and forces the coil on the gas valve to remain open, supplying the gas to the burner.

NOTE:

Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service.

Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

NOTE:  Live voltage checks are dangerous, and possibly deadly. Exercise caution at all times.

If you are not comfortable working with live electricity I recommend you call a Sears Home Service technician.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
