Thank you for your reply. The part you show does match the broken one on the door of my dryer, but there was an additional piece which has the appearance of a switch actuator arm that was found in the dryer drum. The dryer stopped working when this piece was found so I assumed it was an electrical part connected to the door latch. If that is not the case, where would I look for the door switch actuator which stops the dryer from working when the door is open? Ron Travis

Q:

Where can I find the wiring instructions for an electric dryer replacement motor part number 279827?

A:

The individual wires will need to be connected to the motor switch terminals on the new motor. You may need to install new spade connectors on the wires. The first image below from the Parts Select website shows an image of the replacement motor with the wires connected. The terminals on the original motor should have been labeled. You should be able to transfer the wires from the same numbered terminals on the old motor to the same terminal numbers on the new motor even though the terminals will be in a different location on the new motor. The wiring diagram for this older model of dryer is shown in the second image. It may help you wire the motor. If you are not sure how to wire the new motor, I recommend that you have a service technician install it.
