Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com, and for being a valued member.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dryer. I will be happy to help.

If the dryer suddenly stopped working and you hear a click, but it doesn't run, then the most likely cause of this problem is an open thermal fuse and I'd suggest you check this first. It can be checked for continuity with a volt/ohm meter if you have access to one and are comfortable using it.

If you don't have access to a meter or don't know how to use one then there is another way to check if the thermal fuse is the cause of the dryer not running.

With the dryer unplugged you can remove the two wires off the thermal fuse and join (jump) them together and put a little electrical tape around the connection so it doesn't touch anything metal. Carefully plug the dryer in and see if it will run. If it runs, replace the 3392519 thermal fuse. Don't continue to run the dryer with the fuse bypassed to catch up on laundry.

If the thermal fuse checks okay another thing that can prevent the dryer from running would be a broken belt or a broken door switch.

The click you hear is most likely from the relay on the control board so the electronic control should be okay.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

If the fuse is bad, make sure you do a thorough lint cleaning inside the lint duct and rear exhaust, which is probably what caused the fuse to trip.
