Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the dryer. I will be happy to assist you with the repair. First, unplug the dryer from the wall and turn the gas off. Then click here to watch a video on how to take the dryer apart. Once the dryer is apart, you will access to the gas burner. If you need to order any parts for the dryer you can do so from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct . Once you are done installing the burner, do not put the dryer back together yet. Turn the gas on and check for leaks with soapy water. If you do not detect any leaks, go ahead put the dryer together, and check the operation.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Diagnosing Dryers can be difficult. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check a similar question from a previous expert post if you like. I attached the link below. If you do decide to have a technician diagnose and make repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the handy scheduler.

Hi John,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

I assume your dryer is not drying as well as it used to. The first thing you need to check is the exhaust vent. If the air cannot escape, neither can the moisture. You can temporarily disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer and check the exhaust temperatures. This should be around 150 degrees and then drop to around 130 degrees as the dryer cycles.

If your dryer is not heating at all, the diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to give you the checks.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct .

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.
