Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. Joseph has provided you with great information for this issue. If the gas dryer is not heating you could be experiencing an issue with the thermal fuse, operating thermostat, high limit thermostat, thermal cut-off or the burner assembly which consist of the igniter and the gas coil valves. The ignitor must have 110-120 volts supplied to it or it will not glow. The ignitor has glow before it'll cause the gas valve to open and have burner ignition. If you have an ohms/volt meter you can test all these parts for the proper continuity. To test the parts, disconnect both wires from the components and test them at room temperature. Here's a great video on how to troubleshoot this issue. The parts arethe following:

  • Operating thermostat (3387134)
  • High limit thermostat (W10423382)
  • Thermal fuse (3392519)
  • Gas coil valves (279834)
  • Ignitor (279311)

The gas coil valve kit includes both valves and is part number. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

If a gas dryer is running but not heating then the first thing to check would be the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is located behind the lower access panel on the blower housing. The images below will help you access the thermal fuse. Remember to unplug the dryer first. The thermal fuse can be checked for continuity if a meter is available. The thermal fuse can be obtained from the following link: Thermal Fuse .
