The image below will show how to remove the front panel.

If you remove the drum then take a look at how the belt is routed before you remove it.

Remember to unplug the dryer first.

I understand your frustration when your dryer is not heating correctly. Based on the information you have provided it sounds like the igniter need to be check. Over time the igniter can become weak and only has enough power to lite once per cycle. The part number for the ignitor is 279311.
