On most dryers you can remove the screws located on each side of the panel in order to access the lint trap. However, without the model number I can't provide the instructions you need for this. If you could please reply with this information, I can then provide a more detailed answer. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

The Model is 110.74854400 and Serial MR2301198. We took the top completely off but couldn't access the lint tray. We also unhooked the silver metalic exhaust tube and tried to reach in the dryer that way, but no luck. If we can't get it out, do you think there is a risk of fire if it stays in there? When we had the top off it looked like the heating mechinisim is on the opposite side from the lint trap holder and therefore might not get that hot. The object that dropped inside was an unopened package of Command Strips used to hang pictures on the wall. The package was maybe 4x3 inch cardboard with a small amount of plastic holding the strips.
