Thank you for contacting with your question about the light bulb for your Kenmore Dryer. I am sorry to hear the bulb needs to be replaced. I know how convenient it is to have the inside of the drum light up when you are trying to sort laundry. I will be happy to help you with this.

Your dryer uses a 10 watt dryer appliance bulb. However, they are not all standard. If you search on the internet under dryer appliance bulb, you will get a wide variety of bulbs. Some of them are round, some are oval, some simply slide into the socket and others are threaded. I have included the link for you to see and order the bulb that is guaranteed to fit in your dryer.

To assist you with replacing the bulb, I have included the link to view the Bulkhead parts diagram for your model.

Caution: Before beginning any repair, disconnect the power to the dryer.

The light bulb is located on the back wall of the drum. If you look at key 17 (rear bulkhead), at the top center, you will see a small rectangular opening. If you follow the dotted line from that, down to a grouping of parts to the right of the drum, you will see the key numbers 12, 35, 39, 36, and 38. Key 38 is the light bracket that fits into the rear wall of the drum. Key 39 is the light socket that fits into that bracket. Key 36 is the actual bulb. To access the bulb you will need to remove the screw (key 12) to take off the light lens cover (key 35).

While you are replacing the bulb, I recommend you also complete some preventative maintenance by removing any lint build up in the dryer. That will reduce the risk of fire. I have included the link for a lint brush in case you don't have one.
