Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

If your dryer has to have the door closed to stop tripping the breaker, I would start at the door switch.  This switch and the drum light circuit seems to be the fault with the dryer. This would indicate the drum light does not work.  It could be the wires of the light socket.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

We I changed the door switch, replaced the power cord and looked for the non existing light wire loom by removing the drum and the back plate. Its still tripping the breaker. Thanks for trying to help.

The problem is it is not the door switch but the harness wires to the light or the light socket. Try to disconnect the wire from the door switch to the light and see if the dryer acts Ok.

I already looked for the wire loom for the light. There is a socket there but no wires. I took out the drum and the back plate it rides on and nothing. Also none of the existing wires look as if anything has been cut from them so Im not sure where they would have connected to if they were there. There are three wires to the door switch. The one to disconnect would be? The dryer is located in a House my son just bought so we dont know its history but are trying to keep it working to save him some money.
