Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't my dryer continue run when I release the start button?

A:

In order for the motor to remain running after releasing the start button will require the even heat board to supply 48vdc to the motor relay when measured across the two (2) Pink wires with black stripe. If the even heat board does not supply the required 48vdc to the motor relay or if the motor relay does not close, the motor is not going to continue to run when the start button is released. If it measures 48vdc after releasing the start button, replace the motor relay. NOTE: The heater relay and motor relay are the same part number. You could swap the heater relay with the motor relay to see if it will keep running or not. If there is 0 volts or anything less that 40vdc replace the even heat board.

You have finally answered the question a day late and my dollar short. If you would have answered my question within the two business days like your web site indicates I could have been saved a service call. Was the delay in answering my question intentional so that I would have to pay for a service call. I am very disappoined in the lack of service. Ken and Debbie Smith

The most likely failure is the motor relay or the even heat board.

If the even heat board does not supply the required 48vdc to the motor relay of if the motor relay does not close, the motor is not going to continue to run when the start button is released. If it measures 48vdc after releasing the start button, replace the motor relay. If there is 0 volts or anything less that 40vdc replace the even heat board.
