Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details it sounds like the solenoid coils on the gas valve need to be replaced. The solenoid kit is part #279834 which includes both solenoid coils. You can order the kit from Sears PartsDirect

I added a YouTube video showing how to replace the solenoids. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your dryer. I also recommend checking and cleaning the vent system. If there are any kinks or blockages in the vent hose it can cause the burner to shut off prematurely causing longer dry times.

A:

Based on the symptoms of your details the likely failure is the two solenoid coils located on top of the gas valve assembly. The solenoid coils become weak over time and when the coils get hot they cannot open the gas valve. I recommend replacing both coils at the same time. Use coil kit part number 279834.
