Question and Answers

Q:

dryer not heating. always heard ignition when burner went on. hearing no ignition 11072622101 Kenmore Gas dryer

A:

Make sure that the gas cut-off valve for the dryer is fully open and that the dryer has an adequate gas supply provided to it.  This basic troubleshooting step should not be overlooked.

If the gas supply is okay, then I recommend that you start the dryer in a heated cycle. Pull the observation plug on the left side of the front panel below the door. This will allow you to see the burner assembly. If the igniter is not glowing, then I recommend that you check the thermal fuse. Unplug the dryer and shut off the gas supply. Remove the back panel. The thermal fuse is on the blower housing on the lower left side. Here is a link for a previous answer that provides more information about that type of repair: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/238446-kenmore-gas-dryer-80-series-does-heat  .

Here is a link for a previous answer that describes how to bypass that thermal fuse for a brief test:  http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/336262-kenmore-dryer-model-76812692-76812-heat .

That second link provides additional information about diagnosing a heating failure in the gas dryer if the thermal fuse is not the cause of your problem.

These tips should help you fix that heating failure in  your dryer. If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

dryer work fine yesterday will not dry no gas ignition 11072622101 Kenmore Gas dryer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration whenthere is trouble with the dryer not heating.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 110.72622101.

In helping with your dryer.  The first thing to let everyone know is that they must first check there lint screen.  Pull it out and make sure the vent the screen goes into is not plugged.   Next check the vent area where it goes outside the house.   A dryer has to have a free movement of air to prevent heating problems and fire hazzards.

Sorry to hear of your dryer but when not heating for a gas dryer there are 3 items to look at.  1 is the ignitor itself, 2 is the coils which are right there beside the ignitor (there are 2 that comes in a pack together) and 3rd item to check out is the thermal fuse which is on the back side of the blower.   All can be checked with an ohm meter for its continuity.   The ignitor should be reading 40 ohms, the coil kit should have 1 is 560 ohms and 2 is 1220 ohms.  Thermal fuse is 0 ohms.

I have a picture of the dryer burner below.   The ignitor is key number 4, the coils are key number 13 and 14.
