Question and Answers

Q:

horrible screaming dryer

A:

I understand that your dryer is squeaking. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The high pitched squealing noise is likely emitting from the idler pulley that is used to keep constant tension on the belt. I would not recommend attempting to oil it, replace it. The oil will just cause it to attract lint.

The idler pulley is part #691366 which can be ordered from Sears PartsDirect

I also added an installation video I found on YouTube showing how to replace the idler pulley.

I also added a couple of images below with instructions.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

That still does not answer the question. the old part has 2 MALE connections! The new part does not match; one male and one female. That is why I included the photos. Terminal 2 on the new part is an extra terminal that I cannot use either. So again how am I supposed to connect this thing?
