Question and Answers

Q:

What portions of the model number matter?

A:

I know how important it is to have as much useful information about your appliance as possible so that it is easier to find replacement parts and part numbers. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your model number and the owners manual from the Manage My Life website. Hope this helps!

That's the same link that I posted on my original question. I have a model 110.74082201. The web site shows this particular manual applying for 11072082101, 11074084200 and 11074082200 (and others) One model ends in 2101 instead of 2201. One model ends in 84200 instead of 82201. One model ends in 2200 instead of 2201. The manual seems close, but I'm not sure...

Hi John,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

The first 5 digits after the "110." are the ones that really matter as far as for the Owners' manual. The link you added is to an Owners' Manual for the same type of dryer.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

How do I remove the console on my Kenmore dryer, there are no two screws at the base?

A:

If there are no screws located at the base of console, look at the rear of the console for screws. The control panel likely has screws along the upper back side of the console to remove in order to release and slide the console forwards. Do not remove the screws at the console hinge. Once you remove the screws, slide the console towards the front and then it should rise up and hinge over the rear the panel. You will likely need to remove the top panel after removing the console in order to access the door switch harness. The door switch is likely the failure preventing your dryer from starting and causing the minutes to flash.

A:

If you pop the entire top of the dryer up, you will find two spring clips holding the console down to the top. Using a pr of pliers, squeeze each clip to allow the clip to go thru the hole and the console will come up and slide forward releasing the hard plastic num on the underside. I first removed the "hinges" on the back. My dryer is a different model but ielite s probably very similar. This may not be the right way, but it works

A:

I recommend calling a plumber to install a gas supply for your dryer for safety reasons. I added the installation instructions and requirements below.
