When a gas dryer won't heat up the most likely cause and first thing to check is the thermal fuse.

If you don't mind a little do-it-yourself labor you can check the thermal fuse yourself even without a meter if caution is used.

The image below will show how to remove the lower panel to access the thermal fuse.

Remember to unplug the dryer first.

The fuse can be checked for continuity if you have a volt/ohm meter.

Without a meter you can remove the two wires from the thermal fuse and join them together with a small piece of insulated wire. Try the dryer with the fuse bypassed and see if it will heat.

Try this first and reply with the results for further assistance.

If it does heat then replace the fuse right away no matter how tempting it is to catch up on laundry.
