Kenmore Gas Dryer Not Heating model 110.70812990 110.70812990

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when the gas dryer is not longer heating.

Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your Kenmore Dryer model number 110.70812990.

Just for the record to make sure you are doing it all.   Below is a list of items to check for when there is no heat on these gas dryers.

All items can be checked with a volt meter for continuity.

When a gas dryer isn't heating there are a few things to look at.

In the burner system you have

1.  The igniter key number 4 on burner page

2.  The pair of coils 13 & 14 on burner page

Behind the blower there is

3.  The thermistor key number 41 on blower page

4.  The thermal fuse key number 39 on blower page.

Igniter page for model number 11070812990.

Blower page for model number 11070812990.

Q:

why won't dryer heat up?

A:

Good morning.... I can appreciate your efforts to resolve this problem. It may well be the thermal fuse. I did locate a link that will discuss your situation in greater detail. Though this link discusses a different model number, the mechanics are likely going to be very similar. Keep in mind that an expert will be responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and instruction. I hope this link will help guide you as to what might be wrong with your dryer and have a nice day.

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dryer not heating. We are here to help. Henry provided a good link on this problem. Since you already replaced the igniter, does it glow? To determine if the igniter is glowing, remove the small square plug on the front of the dryer. Next, start the dryer on a high heat cycle. If the igniter glows and shuts off without any flame, the radiant sensor needs to be checked. Also, make sure the gas is turned on to the dryer. Now, if the dryer lights up for about 10 seconds and shut off, the coils are bad on the dryer. The coils need to be replaced. However, if the igniter did not glow, the thermal fuse and the high limit thermostat need the be checked. Also, check the new igniter. All the parts mentioned above can be checked with a multimeter. I provided a schematic on the image below, to show how the dryer is wired. The second image shows the part location. I hope this helps.
