A:

The basket not turning on the dryer is such a big inconvenience. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a nice day!

Hello James,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your dryer and I would like to assist you. There are several things that could be causing what you have described. I think the most likely are the "bearings" and rollers that the drum rotates on. This will require disassembly of the dryer cabinet to check these parts. The second item that I would look at is the motor. This is less likely, but depending on the age of it, it could be getting weak.

Be sure to disconnect the dryer from it's power source completely! I have included exploded diagrams with the components that need to be checked, circled. Look on the rear rollers for debris that is tangled on the axle shaft. Hair and threads tend to wrap around these and over time it really gets tight and causes the wheel to drag. Scoring of the axle can also occur and cause a lot of excessive drag on the wheel bushings. The front bearing is usually a felt material that the drum rides on. This material may be contaminated with a number of substances that cause it to become sticky. Sometimes the material is worn away and the drum starts running on the bulkhead, metal to metal. I doubt that you have this issue, it is usually very noisy.

Jerry I feel pretty sure I either have a weak/bad motor or start switch problem. When I bypass the door safety switch, and I press the start button and manually turn the basket with hand to start. it will run fine. BASKET turns freely. Can You send me a wiring diagram of this model..1107018260. Im a retired electronic Tech, I can read schematics...Thanks. James L. Jessup
