Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my Kenmore Elite dryer model 11070056990 making a constant beeping noise when running?

A:

Since your control console is not working properly, you may have a stuck button on the key pad. The images below provide the diagnostic testing and troubleshooting for this type of problem. If the dryer will not go into the diagnostic mode, then a defective control console could be causing your problem.

I recommend calling a service technician to replace the console if you suspect that this is your problem. If you prefer to attempt this repair yourself and need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.

A failed thermistor (temperature sensor) could cause a beeping during the cycle. This would normally be combined with a fault code such as E1 or E2 being displayed. If you see this, then the thermistor will need to be replaced.

Just encountered this problem on the same model, Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer model 110.70056990. Symptom was the "Check lint screen" light continuously flashes and beeps, and the display was stuck on "PERMANENT PRESS". This can be a symptom of a bad Control Panel/Touchpad or perhaps the Main Control board. Since I had a spare, after replacing the main control board (which did NOT fix the problem), I discovered my problem was with the flat ribbon cable which connects the Control Panel with Touchpad to the Main Control Board. If I flex it just right with one hand and reset the controls with the other, the problem will clear and the dryer works just fine. There is likely an open conductor in the flat ribbon cable. So NOW the question is, how to order just the Flat Ribbon cable instead of a $200 board assembly.

Q:

Why can't we turn off the dryer alarm?

A:

It sounds like you are describing the end of cycle signal. If the end of cycle signal is going off in the middle of a cycle I would suspect that the touchpad has a stuck end of cycle signal key. The only way to know for sure is to have it checked with a meter.
