Q:

Kenmore dryer #11068722700 heat seal 11068722700 Kenmore Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you in locating the instructions to install the seal.

I am unsure of what heat seal you are talking about. If you are referring to the door seal, I have attached the instructions.

HOW TO REPPLACE DRUM SEALS:

1.  Please be safe and first disconnect the power cord and pull the dryer at least 6 inches or so foreward.

2.  Remove the screws holding the back of the top panel in place.  Pull the top panel back and up to remove it.  May have to use something like a putty knife under the seam along the front of the cabinet for the panel.  Pull up on the handle of the knife to release the top panel away from the cabinet piece.

3. Lift the top of the dryer off the cabinet.  Place the top, control panel piece, and lean the top against the wall behind the dryer.

4.  Take out the screws from the top front corners.  Pull the wire harness that connects the door switch to the rest of the dryer and set it apart someplace safe.

5.   Look inside the dryer and underneath the right side of the drum to find the pulley holding the tension on the dryers drum.  Think about taking a digital photo showing the way the drum belt threads around the pulley so you will remember when you have to reinstall it.

6.   Push the idler pulley away from the drum and will release the tension.  Pull the belt away from the idler pulley then from the motor pulley.

7.   Grab the belt at the top of the drum with one hand.  Grab the drum with the other hand.  Pull the drum straight out of the dryer cabinet.

8.   Pull off the rear seal.  The seal probably wont come off easy in one piece, might leave bits and pieces along the edge of the drum.   Use some fine grit sandpaper to remove any of the seal particles left.  Wipe the edge of the drum clean with a liquid adhesive remover.   Wipe the drum dry with some paper towels.

9.   Position the seal where the edge with the stitchin faces the front of the drum.   Apply a vhin coat of high-heat adhesive to the drum along the exterior edge.

10.  Press the new drum seal into the adhesive.   There is a small lip on the underside of the seal that sits against the outer edgeof the drum and helps you install the seal evenly on the rear of the drum.  Allow the high-heat adhesive to dry for about 2 hours.

11.  Do both seals then put belt back on and reverse the project to put everything back together.

If you are referring to a different seal please resubmit your question with the part number.
