Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer is leaking.

I have found that you will need to replace the nozzle and screen assembly, washer, and screw.

The washer maybe worn causing the leak in your dryer.

W10044629 ,  W10044628, W10044579 are the part numbers you need.

I don't thing the interface will have anything to do with your problem.

The F40 error code indicates a communication failure between the main machine control board and the motor control board for the blower motor on the dryer.

This can be caused by a loose wiring connection or a blown fuse.

The first image below shows how to access the machine and motor control boards in this dryer.

The second image shows a wiring diagram and additional technical information and troubleshooting for this problem.

Unplug the dryer and access the control boards. Check the wiring connections between the machine control and the motor control boards that are traced by the blue lines in the second image. If those connections are okay, I recommend that you take a resistance reading between the blue wire that connects to P9-1 on the machine control board and the black wire that connects to MC1-4 of the motor control board. This circuit is traced in red on the wiring diagram. You should measure near zero ohms of resistance through this circuit. If you measure infinite resistance (open) then you could have a blown thermal fuse or a blown fuse on the black wire going to the motor control board. You can check the fuse in the black wire going to the motor control board. The thermal fuse is shown in the third image below. If the thermal fuse is blown, be sure that you check the exhaust vent duct system for a clog or restriction.

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

These tips should help you determine the cause of the F40 code in this dryer. If you need more help, reply with additional details for further assistance.

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore Elite Oasis Dryer. I am so sorry to hear that it is cutting off. I know how quickly laundry can pile up with the dryer isn’t working. I will be happy to help you with this.

The F-40 is a fault code that tells the technicians that the communication between the main machine control board and the motor control board for the blower motor is lost. This could mean the problem is something as simple as a loose wire connection or a blown fuse. It could also be something more serious such as one of electronic assemblies has failed and needs to be replaced. I have included a couple of diagrams to help you access the parts to narrow down the issue.

SAFETY WARNING. Before beginning, disconnect the power supply to the dryer to prevent the risk of electrical shock

This diagram will show you how to access the machine and motor control boards.
