Q:

Oasis dryer F40 code

A:

The last thing I would want on my dryer is an error code since this can keep your dryer from working. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with more information about the error code your dryer is getting. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for providing the model number; this model shows to have the dual motor. F40 is usually caused by a loose connection at the blower motor or motor control board. Another possibility is the fuse inside the wiring harness; The Fuse Link is on the L1 side going to the Motor Controller (MC-1) between the Splice to the drive motor and the Controller on the Black wire. You will need to ohm out the fuse link with an ohmmeter. If the fuse is open you will need to replace the wiring harness as you cannot get the fuse separately. I am sending you access & diagnosing instructions in an attachment sent to your e-mail address (our pics will not send today). After making the initial checks please let us know if you need further assistance.

Remember to disconnect power before attempting access.

Thanks for your response. The model number is 110.68072801. I got it off of the inside of the dryer door. I can't confirm whether or not it has dual motors, but it does not have the seperate motor controller that is shown in all the literature. It is about two years old and this is the first time I've had a problem with it.

The F40 code on an Oasis dryer normally indicates that you have a communication problem between the machine control board and the motor control board. This link of a previous answer provides troubleshooting for that type of problem: What does "F40" fault code mean on my Oasis dryer and how do I fix it?

If the F40 is on appearing on your Kenmore Oasis washer, then you have a problem with the water temperature sensor. Here is a link for a previous answer regarding the F40 code on a washer: Why am I getting the F40 code on my Kenmore Oasis washer model 110.27082601?

This information should help you resolve the F40 problem whether you have a washer or a dryer displaying the code. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details and the full model number of your washer or dryer.

This code can sometimes be hard to diagnose and fix whether it is on the washer or the dryer. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I have a Kenmore Oasis dryer, model 110.68072801. I'm getting an F40 error code. Everything I've read so far, including my tech sheet has diagnostic procedures for a dryer with dual motors and a motor controller. My dryer does not have dual motors or a motor controller. I've already unplugged and reset all the connections and it'll run for a little while and then stop and flash the F40 code again. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
