Q:

My Kenmore ELite dryer 110.67052600 11067052600 Kenmore Elite Dryer

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the dryer heat. I know how frustrating that is.

If the dryer heats on the low temperature setting it should also heat on the high setting too but it may still be low heat. You dryer uses the same thermostat that regulates the low heat as the high heat. The temperature switch controls only the thermostat heater. The thermostat heater will cause the thermostat to open up earlier by adding heat directly to the thermostat in order to get the lower heat setting by causing it to open earlier than when set on High heat.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear console panel.

The thermostat heater and the temperature control switch can be tested with an ohm meter.

To test the thermostat heater which is part of the operating thermostat can be tested by removing the two (2) violet wires from the thermostat. Place the ohm meter leads across the two terminals the violet wire was removed from. The resistance of the thermostat heater should measure between 5600-8400 ohms.

The temperature switch can be tested by disconnecting the Blue and Violet wires from the temperature switch and measuring across the two terminals on the switch. With the temperature set on the Lowest setting the ohm meter should measure 10 ohms maximum. When the temperature switch is set on the highest setting it should measure 10,000 ohms minimum.

Unless you are skilled making these kinds of electrical checks, we recommend having a service technician assist with the diagnosis and repair. If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
