Question and Answers

Q:

no heat 11066942501 Kenmore Elite Residential dryer

A:

Thank You for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com. I do apologize for the delay in answering your question.

First I recommend checking for a tripped breaker. This dryer will run just fine on 120 volts but won't heat unless it gets the full 240 volts. If the breaker seems ok, the problem could be with a thermostat, thermal cutoff, timer contact or motor switch. If any of these components show to be open, it will need to be replaced. However, the motor switch will not close until the motor is running. I recommend having a technician make this check. A meter will be needed to check these components.

If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thanks for visiting SearsPartsDirect.com

I have the same problem no heat. I did nothing before this happened. I checked the element and it looks fine. I checked the breakers and they seem fine also. What else can cause this?

Q:

How to begin to install Door Switch 11066942501 Kenmore Elite Residential dryer

A:

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I understand how important it is to have instructions to complete this repair. First you will need a putty knife to releaser the clips for the control panel. The clips are locate on both the right and left side of the control panel. Slide the putty knife between the top panel of the dryer and the control panel.  Rotate the control panel back and remove the two screws that are securing the top panel. Then slide the top panel forward to remove.

I have attached an image below showing the steps I just mentioned above. If you need further assistance please let me know.
