A dryer is definitely something we depend on and when it begins to malfunction it can be a huge inconvenience. While you are waiting for an expert to respond, I have attached a helpful link below that may provide information to assist you with your question.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The first thing that should be checked and verified is the voltage supply. The dryer must have 220 volts and Neutral in order to start. On the back of the dryer is a terminal block with three terminals. The voltage should measure 110 volts when measuring from the center terminal to each outside terminals. The voltage must measure 220 volts when measuring across the two outside terminals. If the voltage supply is correct, I suspect a faulty thermal fuse. NOTE: I do not recommend measuring the voltage supply unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling for service. The thermal fuse is connected in a series circuit between the timer and motor. The thermal fuse is located at the back of the dryer. The thermal fuse will likely have two blue wires attached to it. The thermal fuse is mounted on the blower wheel housing duct. You can disconnect the thermal fuse (key#59) and test it with an Ohm meter for continuity. See image below. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear panel. You will need to remove the vent hose before taking the back panel off. The thermal fuse #3392519 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
