Question and Answers

Q:

no heat 11066712692 Kenmore Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore dryer.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your dryer malfunction, after researching model number 110.66712692. there may be a few parts you want to check into when the dryer does not produce any heat. the thermal fuse, thermostat, and heating element. Just as a side note since you’re going to be working with the dryer, I highly recommend cleaning out all lint in the unit. A buildup of lint causes the heating element to over work itself and also blow out the thermal fuse. The fuse and thermostat are located on the blower housing near the heating element. Below I have linked some test you can run on the parts to see which is bad.

Testing the thermal fuse.   Part#3392519

Testing the thermostat.      Part# 3387134.

Testing the element.          Part#279838.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected *

Q:

Kenmore 70 series dryer makes humming sound and shuts off 66712692 66712

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Dryer, Model 110.66712692. From reviewing the details on your model, Based on your symptom and details, it could have worn out motor or something could be caught in the blower wheel housing preventing the blower wheel and motor from rotating. If the top is hinged opened and the front panel is already off, remove the belt from around the motor pulley. Once the belt has been taken off the motor pulley, grab the belt at the top of the drum and use the belt to lift the drum up and then slide the drum out.
Once the drum is out, rotate the motor pulley by hand to see how freely it rotates. It should rotate very easily. If it doesn't, check inside the blower wheel housing.
