Q:

Wheel blower for Sears Kenmore dryer

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dryer. Use a large pair of vice grips to secure the blower wheel while turning the motor shaft clockwise, looking at the front of the motor. Unscrew the blower by turning the motor shaft. Now comes the fun part. Remove the rear panel. Remove all of the screws holding the lint chute assembly in place. Remove the 4 screws, 2 on each side, at the top of the bulkhead, this will allow you to pull the lint chute assembly up & out of the way. You should now be able to replace the blower wheel. Be sure to tighten the blower wheel securely to the motor shaft. This link will provide a video of this repair: Replace Blower Wheel. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. Q:

Kenmore Dryer

A:

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dryer not working properly. We are here to help. Based on the symptom, I suspect a stuck button on the door switch. To verify that is the problem, just open the door and look at the button. If the button is push in, it is stuck. The button should pop out when the door is opened. Just spray a little WD 40 on the button to loose it. Next, pull the button back out with your fingers. If the button is pushed in too far, the top of the dryer will have to be lifted up. With the top lifted up, the button can be pushed into place. Now, if the button is working properly, than the door switch is bad and needs to be replaced. The part number for the door switch is 3406107.  The image below shows how to open the dryer and replace the door switch. I hope this helps.

John: Thank you very much for the good information. It is very helpful. Do you have any way to send me a copy of your attachment in a little better resolution. I can not really read the attachment that you sent. No matter how I display it or try to print it, it is very blury or fuzzy and not readable. Do you have a higher resolution scan that you can attach? This would be very helpful to me. Thank you for assisting me to complete this repair.
