Question and Answers

kenmore elec dryer,drum wont spin

Finding out why the dryer has suddenly stopped working can be difficult. The expert will review the model for this dryer and respond specifically for this model. I did locate a similar question from a previous expert post that you can check if you like. It is the second link. The first link is the owner's manual for this model if you do not have it handy. It does have some pretty good troubleshooting tips.

If you mean the motor is running but the drum is not then most likely the belt is broken.

You can check this by raising the top of the dryer and taking a look. The image below will help you with this. Remember to unplug the dryer first.

If the belt is broken then it can be replaced as a do-it-yourself project.

The 341241 belt is available at the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

I would also suggest changing the idler pulley 691366 at the same time.
