Q:

Kenmore dryer gets hot and shuts itself off.

A:

Dryers are appliances that we count on after we wash our clothes to get nice and dry. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, I found some great links in the Manage My Life on your Dryer. I have attached the links below. You can also visit Sears Home Services website to set service with a Sears technician. Hope this helps!

From the description and problem you have I suspect the thermistor is shorting out.

What is odd is that you don't mention an E1 or E2 error codes. If the dryer is shutting down with no error code then that might indicate a control board problem.

The image below shows how to check the thermistor.

Try making the thermistor check and let me know how it goes.

The 8577274 thermistor can be obtained from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

I hope this helps. Please reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

Q:

Why is my Kenmore Elite dryer, model 110.64086200, not getting hot while drying the clothes on any setting?

A:

Why is my Kenmore Elite dryer, model 110.64086200, not getting hot while drying the clothes on any setting?

When the dryer stops heating, check the house breakers or fuses for the dryer. The dryer will continue to run if only one of the 120 volt legs of 240 volt power is supplied to the dryer. If the second leg of 120 volt power is missing, the dryer will not heat. Several other failures could prevent your dryer from heating. You could have a bad timer, a failed motor centrifugal switch or a wiring failure in the heating circuit.
